Description

CCAM (Connected Cooperative Automated Mobility) services are based on new architectures that make it possible to process and exchange a significant amount of data. These data exchanges, which take place between vehicles and also with infrastructure entities, such as servers, roadside units, etc. are possible thanks to the coexistence of several communication techniques. For example, data exchange to improve road safety services relies on V2X communications, while electric charging services rely on V2G communications.  For the cybersecurity of both types of communication, it is essential to be able to authenticate users; and to be able to protect them from attacks targeting the content of these communications.

More precisely, for V2X communications, the CTM project, launched in 2024 for a period of three years, is interested in providing solutions to attacks that target the semantics of V2X messages aimed at ensuring cooperative perception services and platooning services.

Concerning V2G services, the CTM project is interested in implementing solutions to face post-quantum attacks which effectively render security keys with a classic cryptographic scheme unusable.

Expected results

  • Propose robust and reliable solutions for detecting attacks on the semantics of V2X messages
  • Integrate attack detection mechanisms into an architecture that aims to establish trust in data and data sources at multiple levels across multiple levels of the CCAM system (vehicle, infrastructure, vehicle-edge continuum)
  • Study the feasibility and implementation of a post-quantum certificate system for V2G communications based on the ISO 15118 standard
  • Analyze and evaluate the impact of semantic V2X attacks on the resilience and robustness of the CCAM safety service
  • Propose new cybersecurity assurance methodologies for CCAM services integrating Artificial Intelligence
