AI-Effect

AI-EFFECT brings together 19 European organizations (including operators, academics, and industry players) to accelerate the development, testing, and validation of AI applications in the energy sector. Over a three-year period (2024–2027), four demonstrations in Denmark, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Germany will address multi-energy management, grid congestion, energy efficiency, and the integration of distributed energy resources through a secure digital platform interconnecting laboratories and real-world infrastructures.

The AI-EFFECT project is funded by the European Union within the framework of the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme (Grant agreement n°101172952).

Objectives

Develop and validate four real-life demonstrations:

  • Multi-energy management (Denmark)
  • Grid congestion management (Netherlands)
  • Energy efficiency (Portugal)
  • Integration of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) (Germany)

Implemented skills

  • Data science and AI
  • Cybersecurity and secure data sharing

Targeted markets

  • Transmission and distribution system operators
  • Energy service providers and demand-side managers
  • Integrators of multi-energy systems and distributed energy resources (DER)
  • Industries driving the energy transition
