Trusted AI: DFKI and SystemX sign a memorandum of understanding

On the sidelines of VivaTech, DFKI and SystemX signed a memorandum of understanding to accelerate progress in human-centric, trusted AI applications, leveraging their combined strengths for impactful, pan-European initiatives.  

They will work closely on their research and development activities, aiming to:  

• deliver trustworthy solutions that benefit the trusted use of AI in research, industry, and society,  
• propel Europe to the forefront of ethical, responsible, and trustworthy AI, setting a global standard for excellence in AI research and applications. 

Specifically, this collaboration will take multiple forms: 

• joint scientific publications, 
• jointly organized events, 
• contributions to the development of AI standards, 
• collaborations on R&D projects, 
• development of new methods and tools to promote the adoption of trustworthy AI. 

SystemX is very active in the field of AI, both on the foundations of AI (eg: foundation models) and on the use of AI foundations (eg: Hybrid AI, Augmented AI, Generative AI). It is enhanced through the Confiance.ai program, with a strong ambition to develop industrial and responsible AI. 

The cooperation brings the Confiance.ai and CERTAIN initiatives of the two partners closer together and marks the beginning of a European network for the development and application of methods and tools for trustworthy AI. In particular with regard to the further development of the European Union’s AI Act, the partners want to pool their joint expertise.
